UMass Lowell College of Fine Arts Humanities and Social Sciences 2015-2016 Scholarships Marguerite Myers Hartford Endowed Scholarship: Scholarships awarded once each academic year to students enrolled in Political Science, Psychology, or Sociology. Recipients must be at the Sophomore, Junior or Senior level in their degree program at the University, with an academic record indicating a 3.0 grade point average or higher who are in good academic standing. Aside from academic standing, the application will include a statement from the student expressing their academic goals and achievements, extracurricular activities, and if they are currently holding a job. This scholarship will be of approximately $680. Charles Carroll Scholarship Fund: There are fewer restrictions on this scholarship, but it will go to students with a 3.2 GPA or higher who have demonstrated service or leadership within a department or student group within the college of Fine Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. Five scholarships will be awarded for $800. Ready Endowed Scholarship Fund: Recipients should be students of exceptional merit who are U.S. citizens, who are at the Sophomore, Junior or Senior level in their degree program, who have an academic record indicating a 3.2 GPA or higher who are in good academic standing, and who demonstrate financial need. One scholarship will be awarded of approximately $770. U.S. Bank Scholarship Fund: There are fewer restrictions on this scholarship, but it will go to students with a 3.2 GPA or higher. Preferences may go to students with an international educational experience. Three scholarships will be awarded of $800 each. Dean Nina Coppens Endowed Scholarship Fund: The purpose of the fund is to award scholarships to undergraduate students (sophomore, junior, or senior level) and/or graduate students enrolled in the College of Fine Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences; undergrad students with 3.0 GPA or higher and/or graduate students with a 3.5 GPA or higher; preferences will be given to undergraduates who have a demonstrated commitment to community engagement or international studies. We will award two awards at $850 each. Charley Richardson Scholarship Endowment Fund: Awarded to students in good academic standing with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Preference will be given to students enrolled in the Work, Labor and Society minor; with second preference given to students majoring in one of the following programs and participating in the Work, Labor and Society minor – Sociology, History, Political Science or Economics. One award will be given for $420. College of Fine Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences Endowed Scholarship: Awarded to full time students enrolled in an undergraduate degree in the College of Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. One scholarship will be awarded for $1000.
