According to the Chronical of Higher Education (1985), philosophy majors as a group score
better than average on standardized tests required for admission to graduate and professional
schools. How much better? 8.7% better on the LSAT, 11% better on the GMAT, 17% better on
the verbal section of the GRE, and 4.6% better on the quantitative section of the GRE.
