Application for Collegiate Leadership Vanderbilt 2011-2012 Purpose The goal of CLV is to help students define, articulate, and apply a personal definition of leadership. Collegiate Leadership Vanderbilt: 1. Introduces students to real world leaders from diverse segments of the community: business, religion, art, non-profit, political, etc. 2. Allows students to hear insights from these leaders and apply them to their everyday leadership roles. 3. Asks students to choose the insights that work best for them. By the end of the program students should be able to incorporate what they learn into a personal definition of leadership. Participants Sophomores, juniors, and seniors with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.8 will be eligible to participate in the program. Students will be chosen based upon their interest in leadership, campus, and community involvement. Participants must be willing to attend all events and complete assignments. Programming Collegiate Leadership Vanderbilt is a seven-month program beginning in September and continuing through April of each academic year. Each month is dedicated to a specific theme that will allow students to interact with leaders to and to experience the different aspects of leadership.
