Education Section Name of dealing, assistant :- Sri Ajit Kumar Pattnaik. Senior Clerk The following items have been dealt in Education Section of District Welfare Officer, Mayurbhanj. 1. Statistical information on Student enrollment in different ST & SC development Department School. i. Ashram School. There are 8nos Ashram Schools functioning in Mayurbhanj District. During the year 2005-06, 1405nos of students are enrolled in different classes (i.e. from Class – I to Class – VII) including boarders and day-scholar student. ii. Residential Sevasharams. There are 7 residential Sevaashrams functioning in Mayurbhanj District. During the academic year 2005-06, 1335nos of students are enrolled in different Calsses (i.e. from Class – I to Class – V) including boarders and day-scholar students. Each year enrollment position of the school is being intimated to Govt. in ST & SC Development Department, Bhubaneswar. iii. Kanya Ashrams. There are 4nos of Kanya Ashrams functioning in the District. During the academic year 2005-06, 445nos girls students are enrolled in different Classes (i.e. Class – I to Class – VII) including boarders and day-scholar students. Each year enrollment position of the school is being intimated to Govt. ST & SC Development Department, Bhubaneswar. iv. ST & SC Development Department Boys High Schools There are 11nos. of boys High School functioning in the district. During the session 2005-06, 3910nos of Boys Students are enrolled in different Classes including boarders and day-scholar student. v. ST & SC Development Department Girl’s High School There are 6nos. of Girls High School functioning in the district. During the session 2005-06, 1248nos of Girls student are enrolled in different classes including boarders and day-scholar student. 2. Annual H.S.C result review of High Schools / Girls High School of ST & SC Development Department. Annual H.S.C. result received from High Schools and Girls High School, the result review is being done in this section and after which it is being submitted to Government, ST & Sc Development Department in the prescribed proforma. 3. Inter-Caste marriage. In this scheme financial assistance on account of inter caste marriage taking place between the schedule caste belonging to the Hindu community with other caste Hindu is provided. Previously a sum of Rs. 3,000/- was awarded towards financial assistance to the newly married couple. Now the Government in ST & SC Development Department in their letter no. 33541 dt. 17.09.2005 has revised the financial assistance for inter – caste marriage couple to Rs. 10,000/-. Before payment of the financial assistance a bond is executed between the new couple. Then, the case after due scrutiny is put up before the Collector & District Magistrate who is empowered to sanction the amount and after which District Welfare Office, Mayurbhanj will draw and disbursed the amount to the recipients on proper receipt. During the year 2005-06, no inter – caste marriage cases has been received for payment. 4. SEBC merit – cum poverty scholarship. This is regarding SEBC merit – cum poverty Scholarship. In this scheme 2 meritorious SEBC student reading in Class - IX & X from any High School securing highest marks will be eligible to get such scholarship, subject to production of caste certificate and his/her father who is a low paid income holder. The student who resides in the hostel (as a boarders) is entitled to get Scholarship @ Rs.100/- P.M. for the period of 10 months only and day-scholar student is entitled to get @ Rs.30/- P.M. for the Same period. The application form received from the High School though the concerned Block Development Officer is duly sanctioned by the undersigned and the amount so sanctioned, it has been disbursed to the student through the Block Development Officer. During the year 2003-04, an allotment of Rs. 2,82,000/- was received from the Government on the basis of the requirement submitted by the undersigned. Then the amount was disbursed to the student through the Block Development Officer. During the year 2004-05 an allotment of Rs. 2,84,000/- has been received from the Government on the basis of requirement sent from this Office. In this connection concerned Block Development Officer’s have been requested to Submit the SEBC application form for necessary sanction and disbursed at this level. The requirement for the year 2005-06 has already been submitted to the Government for taking necessary action at Government level.
