The use of clear health communication is an important component in addressing this issue, especially for patients who have low health literacy. Pfizer is committed to advancing research that addresses ways to improve low health literacy, including the use of clear health communication tools and interventions. Suggested criteria for applications that: 1) Focus on one of the following public health topics: diet/exercise, smoking cessation, prevention, disease management, and adherence to treatment regimens; 2) Incorporate interdisciplinary approaches and knowledge; 3) Bridge the academic and practicing communities.
