Business School Dean’s “Best Publication Prize “ The Business School Dean’s “Best Publication Prize” recognises research excellence in the form of published research, and is open to all academic staff members within the School. The prize is awarded annually to staff for a scholarly journal article or monograph published in the previous year. The value of the prize is $2,500, payable into a nominated research account. In exceptional circumstances, more than one prize may be awarded annually. The criteria used for determining the award of the prize include the following: (i) the theoretical or practical contributions made by the research; (ii) the standing of the journal (e.g. Impact Factor, ABDC Ranking) or publisher; (iv) citations (ISI; Google Scholar, or Scopus). Eligible publications must appear in the UWA publications database for the year prior to the award year. For the 2015 prize, the paper must have been published in 2014. The publication may be single or co-authored, and staff members can nominate more than one publication if they wish. However, an individual may only receive one award. Where there is joint authorship from within the School, the prize will be shared evenly between co-authors. The process: Authors or other academics can nominate a paper. Articles in journals ranked as A* (ABDC) will be automatically nominated. Nominations must include: a copy of the work the citation details for the work - for example, according to Google Scholar and ISI (for ISI go to http://apps.isiknowledge.com <http://apps.isiknowledge.com/> enter your name and click “search” then refine by ‘social sciences’, then refine by ‘business and economics’. Click on article title and report “times cited” (on right hand side) Journal Impact Factor and ABDC ranking (e.g. A* or A) A statement (500wds max) by the nominating author outlining the theoretical and/or practical contributions made by the research. (authors will be notified of these requirements where a paper has been automatically nominated). Nominations must be submitted to Melina.Wood@uwa.edu.au (office # 107, Pilbara Wing, Business School Building) by Friday 11th Septembr 2015. A committee comprising the Dean, Deputy Dean, and the Associate Dean (Research and Research Training) will assess all applications.
