We will be doing a research project on children's rights and obligations. One of your goals will be to choose a topic concerned with children's rights and to study it in depth. Some of the topics, which are possible, are: Child labor Child abuse Neglect of children Child exploitation Violence toward children Children in war torn countries Children and malnutrition Violent children Pupil's rights Children's obligations Korczak's impact on children's rights In class, we will explore different aspects of children's rights and obligations today. We will also look back in history to see how children were treated and viewed in the past . We will read articles on different issues that deal with children and their lack of rights. th Project plan for 11 grade A+ class First choose a topic The project will be divided into sections: Introduction – Topic of Project - why you chose it and what will the reader find in the paper Page of Children's Rights – The list you did in class (what rights you have and what you are lacking) and a composition explaining (your opinion) what children's rights should be and how to reach this situation.. in the world. Research questions – What you want to find out concerning your chosen topic/issue. Write two or three good questions . Description of problem -where the problem is and why there is a problem ( ie. Child abuse/ violent children etc.) Places (organizations) and/ or people that deal with the problems what they do and if they are successful . Creative Writing.. Find a poem.. / personal story/ song OR Write a poem/ song – Explain why you chose it and why you like it and in short what it is saying. (in YOUR English) Conclusion – What you have learned and what problems you encountered and how you dealt with them.
