Cardiac anesthesia CV: Cardiac anesthesia for valve replacement surgery in Assiut University started at the beginning of 1988. The frequency of operations at beginning was low (one patient per week) at that time I was in my late residence period where I was one of the team of cardiac anesthesia. During the period from 1990 till 1993 I did my MD study Thesis titled (Hemodynamic Changes During Propofol-Fentanyl Anesthesia in Patients Undergoing Mitral or Aortic Valve Replacement) which was done on 40 patients. Later on by 1995 the operations of open heart surgery became to be frequent (two lists per week) during that period I continued to be one of the team of cardiac anesthesia. At the beginning of 1999 anesthesia for open heart surgery for congenital heart 3 diseases (tetra logy of Fallots, VSD, ASD, and pulmonary stenosis) started. From that time I was the director of that list till February 2003. During the period from May 2001 till August 2001 I spent this three month period in the department of cardiac anesthesia in Cleveland Clinic Foundation in USA. I spent this period as an observer for anesthesia in both the pediatric congenital and the adult CABG or valvular open heart surgery. - I was one of the cardiac anesthesia team in King Abdul Aziz university hospital since Its beginning around 2006 - I was the one who begin the program of cardiac anesthesia for pediatric congenital heart diseases in King Abdul Aziz university since its beginning 2011. At that time I did different complex and difficult cases in this speciality like Glen, Fontan, and double outlet left heart syndrome….etc. -I continued to work in the program of cardiac anesthesia in king Abdul Aziz university till end of my contract June 2015 At 8 of August I returned back to my job in Assiut university hospital as a professor and consultant of anesthesia From that time I am working as a supervisor to the general ICU and joined my job as the director of cardiac anesthesia program I have many studies in open heart surgery 1- My MD study (Hemodynamic Changes During Propofol-Fentanyl Anesthesia in Patients Undergoing Mitral or Aortic Valve Replacement) 2- The effect of nitroglycerine transdermal patch on the pressor response to tracheal intubation and sternotomy in patients undergoing valve replacement surgery 3- Effect of methylprednisolone on interleukins during open heart surgery 4- Sevoflurane versus isoflurane in patients undergoing valve replacement surgery: A haemodynamic and recovery study 5- Effect of subarachnoid morphine administration on hemodynamic stress response and extubation time after valve replacement surgery 4 6- Influence of dexamethasone on cytokine balance in patients undergoing valve replacement surgery 7- The value of biochemical markers in evaluation of myocardial damage in children 8- Dexamethasone effect on the incidence of shivering and recovery in patients undergoing valve replacement surgery 9- Detection of Cerebral Microemboli and Serum S-100B Protein in Patients Undergoing Valve Replacement Surgery Using Two Types of Circuit Prime Search activities: I supervised the search of 7 candidates Submitted for fulfillment of master degree in anaesthesia (6 candidates) and MD ( one candidate). Also, I have supported many candidates undergoing master or MD in my field of experience in different departments of Assiut university hospital. I have 22 search papers already published. Promotion from lecturer to assistant professor by introducing 8 searches plus one review article. Promotion from assistant professor to professor by introducing 11 searches. In last years (in King Abdul Aziz university hospital) I have three articles plus on case report and letter to editor already published. the last paper which published in Journal of Anesthesia and Clinical Research, 2014 5: 482.
