Dress: Jumping The wearing of SASJ approved summer shirts as well as SASJ registered approved golf shirts (i.e. sponsors, stables yards etc) is permitted for all show jumping classes EXCEPT THE CHAMPIONSHIP CLASSES AND PRIZE GIVINGS where JACKETS must be worn. This applies to ALL Grades. School Blazers may be worn for the Team Parade and Team Show Jumping Equine Flu: Equine Flu Vaccination details are COMPULSORY for each horse entered. Notes: 1. No rider may ride more than three horses/ponies in one class 2. No allowance will be made in the timetable for Competitors riding as Pony Riders & Juniors. In the event of a clash of Classes, no refund of entry Fees will be made available. 3. The Organisers reserve the right to cancel, combine, limit or divide any class. Entries in all classes will be restricted to a practical number, with preference given to the higher grades. Any Showjumping classes that are combined will be run on a handicap basis. 4. No one, other than the competitor, is to ride/school any entered horse/pony on the premises from the start of the show. 5. The wearing of hard hats is compulsory at all times whilst mounted. 6. Entries out of order at closing date of entries will be forfeit. 7. All jumping classes will be run at a speed of 350m/min unless conditions necessitate a change, except for the PR 0.600.80m, Ad/Jnr 0.70- 0.90m classes which will be run at 300m/min and Jnr 1.00m at 325m/min. 8. All Dressage Tests available from DSA website. It is NOT the Secretary’s responsibility to supply the tests, so please ensure you have copies of the latest tests. 9. Dressage – not more than 2 Tests per horse/pony may be ridden per day. 10. Dressage : Any Rider/Horse/Pony combination may ride up or down a grade (but not both) – Refer to Dressage Rules 11. All horses/ponies and riders must be registered with SAEF. If you are not a registered member of DressageSA or EquitationSA you may pay the required Temporary Membership Fee – consult website for details. 12. EQUITATION TESTS available on the EQSA website. 13. All Stallions to display a yellow disk or ribbon on both sides of the bridle or in the tail. INTERSCHOOLS NOTES AND RULES: 1. INDIVIDUALS RIDING FOR SCHOOL TEAMS; Competitors participating in School Teams must be entered in the Individual event for the same Discipline and enter on both the Team and Individual Entry forms. Individual entries must be paid even if entered in a School Team. If your school has not received one please phone enquiries. 2. This Interschools competition is in no way affiliated to SANESA Schools. 3. PONY RIDERS: Pony riders wishing to compete on their ponies for their High School must be dual registered as such and must follow the rules as laid out below: The Rider must be a registered learner in their High School i.e. Grade 8 and above. Dressage: Pony Riders will be required to ride the relevant Junior Test in a 60 x 20 arena and their entry will be considered an HC entry – i.e. not eligible for prizes or grading points, but their score will be put forward to their nominated Team’s score. Equitation: Pony Riders will be required to ride the relevant Junior Test and height – with no adjustments made for striding – and their entry will be considered an HC entry – i.e. not eligible for individual prizes or grading points, but their score will be put forward to their nominated Team’s score. Show Jumping: Pony Rider graded classes are on offer and will be considered as the required Individual Entry to qualify for Team Selection. However, the Team Event, will be run as per normal for horses and there will be no allowance made for pony striding. No Adult to ride any horse/pony entered in the show from one hour prior to the first class of the show until the end of the team jumping under penalty of elimination. Rose Bowl Turn Out Trophy and Rosettes Prize Giving for Class X: Team Dressage and Class Y: Team Equitation to take place after the Prayer Class Z: Show Jumping Team Event is Affiliated to SASJ as Recreational - therefore not graded. There will be 2 identical tracks – with height differences. KZN Team Showjumping Trophy and Special Rosettes Rule: lst round Precision; 2nd round Speed to be ridden by any 2 nominated team members, under Table A rules. Penalties from the lst round will be carried forward. Horses eliminated in the 1st round will go forward to the 2nd round but will carry maximum penalties. Should there be equality of penalties and time, one member of each team will jump off against the clock. NOTE: 2 parallel tracks will be built for the Team Show Jumping. One track at max. .90m and the other at +/- 1.10m – at the discretion of the course builder. All horses graded 1.10m and up will be required to jump the higher track. GENERAL RULES FOR SCHOOL TEAMS: 1. ALL Riders & Horses nominated to ride in a School Team MUST compete in the Individual classes of their Registered Grade in the discipline they are selected to ride the Team Event in. All Competitors participating in School Teams must enter on both the Individual Entry form and the Team Entry Form and each to be paid for separately. 2. ALL Riders representing their school in a school team must be pupils of the High School Section of their School. This is not a show for Junior School Pupils. i.e. Pupils to be registered in Grade 8 or above. 3. All teams are to be nominated and entered on the special Team Entry Form, signed and stamped by the Principal or person designated by the School. Competitors participating in School Teams must enter on both the Team and Individual Entry forms. 3. A Team shall consist of 4 riders/4 horses provided they are all pupils of the same High School. Or a minimum of 3 riders/3 horses from the same school. The best 3 scores will count towards the Team Results in all disciplines 4. Only one horse per rider per team (school) per discipline will be allowed 5. Schools may combine, provided they do not have 3 riders in any one School. A combined School Team may consist of 3 or 4 riders. 6. a. All Dressage Teams must have their final team confirmation 1 HOUR BEFORE THE START OF THE COMPETITION ON Friday 16th October 2015. Any changes made thereafter will be null and void b. All Equitation Teams must have their final team confirmation by 07h45 on Friday 16th October 2015. c. Showjumping Teams participating must be confirmed by the end of the last showjumping class on Saturday 17th October 2015, by the Chef d’Equipe at a meeting with the Show Organisers under the Judges Box - failing which the original School Entry will be accepted to be correct. 7. A School Team entering two or more teams please note: If a horse in a Team is unable to compete, the 4th rider/horse from either of the Teams may change Teams. The change of rider must be nominated 1 hour prior to the start of the event. 8. The order of riding will be determined by a draw done by the organizers. 9. Team Turn Out Competition & Parade is limited to ONE team of 4 horses and riders per school. It does not necessarily have to be the A Jumping Team – any 4 horses and riders can be nominated for the Team Parade as long as they competed in a team event. Please note that the Organisers require a list of these horses and riders for the announcer. In support of fair play we encourage schools NOT to purchase new tack for this event.
