GC Fuji VIII GP – self-curing, resin-reinforced GIC for anterior restorations Glass ionomer cements to the forefront: economical, aesthetic and translucent They are quick and easy to use but also have a reliable and effective adhesive bond: resin-modified glass ionomer filling cements have been clinically proven for posterior teeth for many years. After GC Fuji IX GP, the market-leader in GICs is now setting another milestone: the unique GC Fuji VIII GP from GC EUROPE not only combines the advantages of acrylic resin and glass ionomer cements, but it is the first to make aesthetic anterior restorations possible in a very short time – thanks to a natural translucency entirely without light-curing. The much improved physical and aesthetic properties make the new, chemically cured glass ionomer filling cement from the Dental Care Company the method of choice for use in class III and class V restorations and for treating root surfaces of anterior teeth. Thanks to its innovative chemical composition involving specific acrylic particles, it matches the surrounding tooth structure almost imperceptibly owing to its natural translucency and it harmonizes perfectly with the Vita tooth shades. Excellent bonding strength and efficient handling GC Fuji VIII GP impresses with its visual characteristics but also with its excellent adhesive properties. As a result of direct ion exchange between the glass ionomer cement and the tooth structure, it develops strong hydrophilic, chemical bonding not only to the enamel but also the dentine – reliable and durable, without etching or the use of bonding agents. The material attains 90 per cent of its excellent mechanical properties within a maximum of ten minutes. Its good sealing power also minimizes the risk of marginal leakage and discolouration developing in the long term. At the same time GC Fuji VIII GP has all the advantages of a conventional glass ionomer cement: continuously high release of fluoride, radiopacity and excellent bioavailability. Its amazingly low sensitivity to technique and moisture also leads to improved safety of application and hence a more reliable outcome – even without a rubber dam! Processing and setting times? Good and short! Another benefit for daily practice: shorter processing and setting times make handling far easier and quicker. Thus finishing can be done after only two minutes ten seconds, while the working time is one-and-a-half minutes. With just two innovative restorative materials – the internationally well-established, packable GC Fuji IX GP (Fast) and the new GC Fuji VIII GP – dentists can now cope with all anterior and posterior indications simply and efficiently – whether for metal or acrylic resin prosthetic work. In capsule or powder/liquid versions, GC Fuji VIII GP is an extremely economical product. It is now available in the shades A2, A3, A3.5, B2, B3 and C4 in pack sizes containing 50 capsules or in a kit containing one bottle (6.8 millilitre contents) and 15 grams of powder and also as refill packs.
