GENERAL
JH Academic Awards Program: The JH program will be
held the last day of school, May 19. The program will
begin at approximately 10:00. You will report to your 3rd
hour teacher for attendance and you will then be excused
to go to the Multi-Purpose room. You need to be quiet in
the hallways as grades 9-11 will be taking finals.
Senior Finals Schedule: May 11 you will take finals in
hours 1, 3, 5 & 7. May 12 you will take your final in hours
2, 4, 6 & 8.
7-11 Finals Schedule: May 17 - 1st hour finals during 1st
& 2nd hour, 3rd hour finals during 3rd & 4th hour, 5th hour
finals during 5th & 6th hour. 7th & 8th hour will be a regular
class period.
May 18 - 2nd hour finals during 1st & 2nd hour, 4th hour
finals during 3rd & 4th hour and 6th hour finals during 5th &
6th hour. 7th & 8th hour will be a regular class period with
the exception of JH, who will take their final for 8th hour.
May 19 grades 7-11 will take 7th hour finals during 1st & 2nd
hour and grades 9-11 will take 8th hour finals during 3rd
and 4th hour. JH will go to the multi-purpose room at 9:45
for the awards program and 8th grade promotion.
There will be a drawing for a free t-shirt or baseball cap,
so be sure to attend!
Baseball: Varsity will host Linn tonight at 5:00 (no JV).
9th & 10th Grade Baseball: We host Helias Monday at
5:00. We host Blair Oaks Thurs, May 5 at 5:00. The final
game of the season is Fri, May 6 at 5:00 hosting
Camdenton.
Track: V/JV travels to South Callaway today for the final
meet of the year. Districts are in Linn on May 7.
Soccer: Varsity plays tonight at Rolla at 4:00. V/JV will
travel to School of the Osage on Monday for a 5:00 game.
GUIDANCE
8th-11th Grade Students: Consider attending the MoDOT
youth Transportation Conference July 17-22 in Jeff City.
Learn about transportation, engineering, computers and the
social and environmental impacts of a new transportation
system. Must apply by June 3. Mueller has an application
or go to www.modot.org/EqualOpportunity/youthcamp.htm.
You may also email ElizabethReed@modot.mo.gov.
HS Play: May 6. Performance for the school will be at
1:00 - family/community at 6:00.
8th-12th Grade Students: Attend the Mizzou Band and
Choir Camp June 12-17 or the Missouri Summer
Composition Camp June 19-25.
Next Year’s Yearbook Staff: There is a mandatory
meeting on Tuesday at 7:55 AM to talk about camp. Bring
your camp registration form.
Students Age 15-18: Attend the Missouri Chamber Music
Seminar June 19-26. For more information about any of
these camps, go to music.missouri.edu/camps.
FCCLA: End of year field trip will be on June 15. All
FCCLA members are invited to attend. See Mrs. Libbert
for details and to sign up. If you don’t sign up you will not
be able to attend. You may sign up through May 12 –
Don’t miss the fun!
Congratulations to Hannah Cox for earning a 2 rating at
State for Vocal. Way to go, Hannah.
Congratulations to Dusty Angerer, Connor Muenks and
Cole Neuner for qualifying for Sectionals yesterday at the
District Golf Meet. They will play in the Sectional Meet on
Wednesday at Tanglewood. The team tied for 4th place
overall. Congratulations to all!
SPORTS
Athletic Booster Club: There will be a meeting on
Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the HS library. Agenda topics
will include: scholarship process review, concession stand
prices, capital campaign update, golf tournament update,
merchandise coordinator/website, spring sports banquet.
Artistic Students: Consider attending the Columbia College
High School Summer Art Workshop from July 11-15 and 1822 with seven hour days to learn techniques, received input
on your art and learn more about college. Cost is $285 and
includes lunch, snacks and art materials. Deadline to
register is June 3. Online registration and fee payment is
available at www.ccis.edu/departments/arts/workshop.html.
Mueller also has a brochure and an application form.
SENIORS
PLEASE let your friends and family know that air horns
will not be permitted at graduation as a courtesy to
hearing impaired guests who have Cochlear Implants.
Individuals with such implants are not able to withstand
the pitch of air horns.
You will take finals on May 11 and May 12.
Mass at St. Joseph Church is at 8:15 AM on Friday, May
13. This is an optional event. If you choose to participate,
please wear cap and gown.
Breakfast will follow at 9:00 for senior students at the
Lion’s Hall for those who have paid class dues.
By 9:30 you will meet at the HS gym for a class group
photo (in cap and gown).
Graduation practice begins at 9:45.
On Sunday, May 15, you need to be in the Multi-Purpose
room by 7:00 PM.
