Chamberlain School District Teacher of the Year (TOY) Guidelines The following is a schedule and program guide to administer the Chamberlain School District Teacher of the Year (TOY) program. The items in bold, blue font are required if the district wishes to ultimately nominate its District TOY for the Regional TOY Award. Due By Superintendent Responsibilities Feb. 5 The Superintendent will ensure the District’s TOY Nomination Forms are available in all school district buildings and on the school district website. Nominations will be encouraged so that a teacher(s) is nominated from the K-6 and 7-12 buildings. Feb. 28 The Superintendent will ensure that all District TOY Nomination Forms have been received from K-6 and 7-12 schools. The Superintendent will review the District TOY Nomination Forms for completeness. March 3-7 The Superintendent will use the selection committee composed of: The CES Principal, CHS/CMS Principal, Current Teacher of the Year, CES Parent/Community Member, CHS Parent/Community Member to recommend the Teacher of the Year. The Superintendent will make the final selection. March 10 The Chamberlain School District will recognize the Teacher of the Year at its annual School Board Awards/Recognition meeting. March 28 The Superintendent will give the Regional TOY Nomination Form to the District TOY. April 13 The superintendent will ensure that the District TOY has completed and mailed the Regional TOY Nomination Form. **Keep in mind that if our District’s TOY is selected as a Regional TOY, he/she will need to complete a 16 page application, gather signatures, and submit a 15 minute teaching video for the state TOY process.
