West Yorkshire Radiology Academy
I have taken a lead planning and implementaion of the Leeds Radiology Academy.
This DOH, RCR & NHS project uses innovative teaching and training techniques to
increase radiology training capacity.
My personal involvement was educational and building design and day to day
management of the academy. Over the last 4 years I have worked closely with the
RCR, NHSU and DoH developing the educational design of the integrated training.
I have introduced academy fellows to the region and employed the countries first
consultant sonographer through this project. This dramatic change to the structure

and scope of the training scheme has been managed & introduced with minimal
service & training disruption. The educational programme has evolved during the first
year and is proving highly successful.

Responsible for all training needs of 57 SpRs. I attend STC, RITA, shortlisting,
appointments committees and prepare TAC/ PMETB reports. I arrange radiology
attachments and give careers. In 2007 we incorporate radiology into foundation
programmes.
