Junior Achievement “Darcy Lehman Scholarship Fund” 1. NAME: The name of this scholarship is the Darcy Lehman Scholarship Fund. 2. PURPOSE: The Darcy Lehman Scholarship Fund was founded in 2000 by the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of Northwest Ohio – Defiance Division to enhance the future of students who gained exposure to economics and finance through Junior Achievement programs. The Scholarship may be used toward the following: tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies. 3. ELGIBILITY: Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to high school graduates who have maintained a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5, based on a 4.0 scale; who will attend an accredited, two and/or four year college or university; and have been enrolled in and completed at least one Junior Achievement program over the course of their elementary or secondary education. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED certificate. 4. HOW TO APPLY: Interested students must compete the application, essay, letters of recommendation, and include a Junior Achievement certificate for consideration. The application period runs from January to March 2nd of each calendar year. Completed essays are to be submitted to the guidance counselor at the school the student is attending and must arrive before 3:00 p.m. on March 2nd. 5. SELECTION PROCEDURE: A selection committee comprised of four Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of Northwest Ohio – Defiance Division will review the applications and select the scholarship recipient(s). It will be presented for approval at the April Junior Achievement Board Meeting. 6. AMOUNT OF AWARD: The number of scholarships awarded and the amount of each shall be examined yearly and dependent upon the discretion of the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement – Defiance Division. It is expected scholarships will be awarded to students in the amount of at least $500.00. 7. TERM OF AWARD: Each scholarship shall be awarded for one year and are not renewable.
