Findochty and District Community Council Minutes of the meeting held on Wednesday 1st May 2013 at Findochty Town Hall at 19:00. Present Ryan Main (RM) – Chairperson, Gayle Calder (GC) - Vice Chairperson, Ruth O’Hanlon (RO) – Secretary, Henry Marshall (HM), Andy Slater (AS), Councillor Gordon McDonald (GMcD) PC M Paige, Simon & Sally McCartney Apologies were received Martin Legge (ML) – Treasurer, John Oliver (JO), Andrew Mackie 1. Introduction from Chairman and Apologies RM opened the meeting at 19.05 and welcomed all attendees. 2. Update from Police Services Scotland The two Division have now merged into one, Local policing hasn’t changed. It was noted that Speeding is still an issue within the village. 3. Update from Community Warden Local Interest Information - There has been no anti-social behaviour incidents created for the attention of the community warden. This includes noise complaints, neighbour disputes, youth annoyance etc. Dog Fouling There has been 1 incident created for persons reporting dog fouling to Moray Council. There has been 1 complaint made directly to the community warden reporting dog fouling and an incident created by community warden. The community warden has issued 1 FPN in Portknockie. Hotspot areas targeted for patrols to deter dog fouling are, Castle Street Park, Caravan Park, Lane at rear of Castle Street The community warden delivered dog litter bags to the post office on 01/05/2013. Litter/Fly Tipping There has been 1 incident created related to litter. The community warden attended the unclassified road Findochty – Rathven with local press to highlight the issue of fly-tipping of bottles in that area. Checks made prior to this meeting on 27/04/2013 and there has been no further bottles littered. Initiatives A junior warden scheme has been organised for the Keith area as a pilot. The scheme is aimed at P7 children to learn about anti-social behaviour and the impact this has on their community. A dog poo quiz has been compiled for distribution to all primary schools. This quiz is designed for parent interaction and will educate on the results dog fouling has on an individual and their community. The local primary school has distributed the quiz to all children and return date of10/05/2013. Arrangements to be made to pick winners and award vouchers. 4. Matters arising from previous meetings Work requiring to be done in and around the village – Outstanding Site of former Bus Shelter – Concrete needs addressing. JO to action. Electric Box is all rusty and needs repainting. GC to action in the New Year. Fence has been fixed at the Strype. HM to paint. Snooker Table. Contact Nick Goodchild to see if any other Hall would be interested in the Table. RO to action. – Waiting response Coping Stone at the town hall to be replaced. RM to contact the Council. Beach at The Hythe needs a path creating through the rubble. RM to contact the Council. New Benches at the Hythe need sanding and repainting. Wheelbarrow and two spades to be purchased for Community Council use. GC to purchase RO & GC to plant flowers the end of May once the bad weather has past. Findochty signs to be boxed in and planted with flowers. HM to ascertain when the Compass Rose would be ready. 5. Update on current projects WEBSITE Meeting with Hedley Enterprises to be organised. RM to chase. AS to contact high school to see if any children need an enterprise project. FORMER LIBRARY BUILDING Brief discussion took place on Sunday, the conclusion being that we require another look around the building with a builder to make a decision. COMMUNITY DAY Date has been changed to 26th & 27th July to accommodate high tide. Next meeting has been organised on 13th May 2013, 7pm. Council members to meet beforehand. 6. Current matters to be discussed and taken forward Council Cuts School – RM to organise a meeting. 7. Finance / Administration matters No present 8.
