With 2011 being the national year of communication, it is the perfect time to celebrate the excellent work and achievement of individuals and teams in developing the communication skills of children and young people from birth to teenagers. Together, we can recognise those who have gone beyond the call of duty to support and champion communication skills. Shine a Light wants to hear from you whether you have been involved with a small grassroots projects or across a large area-wide initiative. Twelve awards are available including three ‘Communication Friendly’ awards, three ‘Team of the Year’ awards, an award for ‘Communication Strategy’ and ‘Commissioning’ as well as the ‘Hello Young Person of the Year Award’. We look forward to sharing the learning’s and best practice exemplars with others across the country to incentivise improved practice in 2011 and beyond.
