Re: Adding music to School/ Organization Name curriculum
Date
Dear Contact Name,
School/ Organization Name is pleased to present this proposal for consideration. We look
forward to partnering with you to provide a high quality music solution for our students,
called MusIQ Lab. School/ Organization Name has over Number of students who are not
presently receiving the benefits of comprehensive music study. The objective of the
MusIQ Lab program is to help students absorb important music skills and appreciation
which will help with the child’s development.
Music lessons, specifically piano instruction, have been shown to improve a child's

reports that music training dramatically enhances children's abstract reasoning, ability
necessary for learning math and science.
MusIQ Lab has been successful in engaging children and youth from kindergarten to
middle school. The program motivates and challenges students with personalized music

School/ Organization Name is seeking funds to provide students with a highly engaging
music learning solution called MusIQ Lab developed by Adventus, the world-leader in
interactive music learning programs. We intend to add quality music software, keyboards,

none. However, we need your assistance to implement this program. To provide a wellrounded program, and to have it available to students for years to come, funding in the
amount of $ Dollar Value is requested for the purchase the software, teacher manuals and
four-octave digital keyboards.
Statement of Need
The statement of need should describe the problem that the project will attempt to address.
Also, describe the population that will be served.
School/ Organization Name serves Number students, many who may have little
opportunity for music education. Benefits of quality music education are immense. Beyond
the sheer joy that people experience in making music, studies over the past decade have
shown us some amazing things about music and the development of young minds. Study
after study has demonstrated that the process of learning to read and play music actually
stimulates development in important areas of the brain. This can lead to accelerated rates
of learning and comprehension in math, science and reading which, in turn, results in
improved attitudes towards learning and better behavior in schools.
Program Description
Describe the project or program and provide information on how it will be implemented.
Include information on what will be accomplished and the desired outcome.
MusIQ Lab will allow students to take part in an interactive group music learning
environment utilizing our current computer facilities. MusIQ Lab software provides
students of any age the opportunity to participate in group piano classes, reducing the cost
of music education and making the process fun, easy and effective. Award-winning
interactive music learning software programs include:

Piano Suite Premier

Children's Music Journey 3-Volume Series

Ear Training Coach

MusIQ Challenger
MusIQ Lab programs are in line with national standards and public music curriculum
objectives. There is a primary focus on reading, understanding, and playing music, as well
as improvisation and composition. Secondary objectives include; listening and
responding to music, developing a diverse repertoire of music, and music history.
Goals & Objectives
Describe the project objectives in measurable terms that address the academic and
technology needs of the students.
In providing this program to our students, we believe we will create a positive learning
environment that will continuously benefit the students in several aspects.



play with both hands and improvise

social, active participation

improved academic performance

positive learning environment

long-term developmental fun
Adding MusIQ Lab to our curriculum will allow us to achieve a major objective; to provide
a music learning opportunity to all children, regardless of family resources. The
opportunity for our students to have a music education and all the benefits it provides,
such as accelerated rates of learning, is our cherished goal.
Budget
1. Include in the budget all expenses for your project, including necessary training costs.
Mention any co-funding that you are using from other sources. You may want to include a
brief narrative of expenses along with a table of individual cost components.
2. Include the Quotation, on Supplier Letterhead
The budget for this project includes funds for a Number station music learning lab that will
provide a full program. It includes MusIQ Lab software, keyboards, headsets and teacher

Evaluation
Provide information on the metrics that will be used to determine the effectiveness of the
project or program.
The MusIQ Lab program includes lesson plans that allow each child to progress
sequentially through a series of lessons without impeding a student’s progress. A teacher
monitors each child’s progress and can provide a progress report for each child. This
flexibility allows the teacher to help students having difficulty completing a level, while
allowing others to progress at their own pace.
Staff and Organizational Information
Include the staff qualifications, certifications, and skills. Describe the organization and include
information indicating the organization’s capacity to implement and sustain the program.
A trained music educator is ideal. For schools/ organizations without a dedicated music
teacher, a leader with some musical background can deliver the program.

Children's Music Journey Level 1
Children’s Music Journey
Review By: NAPPA
Of all the music instruction programs we’ve seen through the years, this one ranks up at
the top. Children’s Music Journey provides a rich interactive experience in which kids
learn to play the piano with both hands, read music, compose and improvise. With a MIDI
keyboard connected to a computer, the system provides immediate feedback and helps
the child evaluate performance. A very thoughtful teaching approach enables the learner
to explore a variety of different areas, including the Lesson Room, Practice Room, Library,
Games Room and Improvisation Room. Games help reinforce what has been learned in the
Lesson Room, from reading music and counting to rhythm and fingering. Kids create and
save their own music in the Improvisation Room. To expand its overall usefulness, there
are teacher settings, too!

Piano Suite Premier
Piano Suite Premier
Review By:ComputED Gazette
In an age when fine arts programs are being cut nationwide, Piano Suite Premier is a
stand-out. This elegantly produced bilingual DVD (English/French), targeted to students
eight and up, teaches skills from beginner to advanced pianist, is self-paced, and provides
teachers and parents with easy-to-use progress reports.
The Piano Player and Theory Thinker modules are the meat of the program. Using the
Composer Corner, students can compose and record their own work. History Happens
includes over 150 biographies of influential musicians and composers, a name
pronunciation guide, and a timeline of classical composers. Piano Suite Premier doesn't
shun popular music--there are over seven genres, including Country-Western, Pop, Blues
and Jazz. Three game modules reinforce lessons, from Piano Player to Theory Thinker. The
program has many fully customizable options, with over 500 pieces to listen to, play,
practice and enjoy.
