The Home Instead Senior Care® network's 2012 Family Caregiver Support Web Seminar
Series features free monthly seminars for senior care professionals on a variety of topics
that can help set them apart as experts in their field.

The Home Instead Senior Care network is offering free continuing education credits
(CEUs) in conjunction with the web series, which addresses senior resistance to care and
features relevant issues such as sibling communication, seniors and nutrition, navigating
the senior care maze, and seniors and cognitive issues. The program has been adapted for
CEU accreditation in cooperation with the American Society on Aging (ASA). CEUs are
available for 90 days following the live event.
The CEU courses, which began in 2010, are offered compliments of the Home Instead
Senior Care network so there is no cost for the CEU.
All web seminars are scheduled at noon Central Time. The 2012 topics and dates follow
below. Pre-registration will be required for all sessions. Professionals will take a short
survey online after the seminars and then will receive one hour of CEU credit through
ASA within 30 days of completion of the application.

Poison Centers Offering
(HRSA
The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) invites you to take
advantage of an opportunity for continuing education credits for pharmacists,
nurses, and physicians to help raise awareness of the nation’s poison centers as a
resource for healthcare providers.
You may know that poison centers provide medical treatment and triage for
poisonings to help people of all ages. Poison centers are also a resource for
healthcare professionals. On average, 16% of all calls to poison centers are placed
from healthcare facilities each year.
The eLearning module provides an overview of poison center resources, relevant
poisoning trends, strategies for integrating poison center services into clinical
practice and information about accessing a poison center through the Poison Help
line, 800-222-1222. Continuing education credits are available through September
28, 2012.
This eLearning module has been developed by HRSA’s Poison Control Program
and Office of Pharmacy Affairs with the support of the HRSA Pharmacy Services
