BMS INSTRUMENT HIRE SCHEME – 2011-2012
This hire agreement is solely between Brent Music Service and the hirer and is independent of any school tuition fees.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS FORM WILL NOT BE PROCESSED UNLESS ALL DETAILS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED AND RETURNED INCLUDING PAYMENT DIRECTLY TO THE
BMS OFFICE. PLEASE USE A SEPARATE FORM FOR EACH CHILD.

3) BMS Conditions of hire
1) The instrument you are hiring remains the property of Brent Music Service at all times and is
returnable at the request of Brent Music Service.
2) Instruments are hired on a termly basis including holidays, 3 terms a year.
3) The hire charges must be paid promptly upon receipt of the instrument hire invoice. Requests for
payments are sent to your home address once each term after your initial order. (3 terms per year).
Non payment of hire fees will result in instruments being recalled and any debt passed to credit
control within Brent Council.
4) All instruments should be in good working condition when first hired. Repairs and maintenance will
be undertaken by BMS free of charge. Instruments for repair should either be returned to the
school or brought into the BMS office. A replacement instrument may be given for the duration of
the repair.
5) BMS does not replace strings or reeds unless there is a fault with the instrument at the time of
hiring
6) Every care should be taken to protect the instrument against loss or damage. The hire charge
covers accidental damage but not for negligence, wilful damage, loss or theft. In the event of loss
or damage you will be invoiced for the cost of a replacement instrument. The value of the
instrument will be determined in line with current prices.
7) This instrument may not be transferred to any other person or sibling.
8) Please advise of any changes of address or if changing schools.
9) If you no longer require the instrument it should be returned directly to your child’s school or to the
Brent Music Service office. If you return the instrument to the school please remember that it is
your responsibility to contact BMS in order for the instrument to be collected and not the schools.
Failure to inform BMS of the returned will result in continued charges for the hire.
