b STUDENT AMBASSADOR INFORMATION 2015-2016 Who are Student Ambassadors? Student Ambassadors are a select group of reliable, respected, and knowledgeable UW-Marshfield/Wood County students who share their positive attitude and knowledge about the campus with prospective students, their parents, and the community. It is essential that Student Ambassadors sincerely enjoy meeting new people and making them feel comfortable and welcome. Student Ambassadors are required to make a minimum commitment of 30 hours per semester to assist in promoting UW-Marshfield/Wood County with a variety of events. What do Student Ambassadors do? Student Ambassadors are a select group of students who help promote the University: as student representatives of the UW-Marshfield/Wood County. as assistants for special events. as orientation assistants. as campus tour guides. as student role models/mentors who assist other students. What are the benefits of becoming a Student Ambassador? Student Ambassadors gain: opportunity to be campus leaders. resume enhancements. semester stipends. personal satisfaction. personal and professional development. prestige. What are the qualifications? Student Ambassadors: must be in good academic standing (at time of application a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA is required.) possess good communication skills. have consideration of others. be enthusiastic. have a keen appreciation for the campus and community. must be able to attend scheduled Ambassador functions. How do I apply? Complete the Student Ambassador application and submit it to the Student Affairs Office by Wednesday, March 4th by 4pm. Final selections will be made by the Student Ambassador Advisors. Decisions will be based upon the completed application, two references (at least one of which should be a faculty/staff member of UW-Marshfield/Wood County) and a personal interview.
