Find your grade level (if you have a split grade select the grade level that you feel is most appropriate or
combine appropriate grades together to create a class of 15 – 30 students per class).
Determine when you can arrive at the Safety Village and when you must leave.
You should be at the Village approximately 10 minutes before the class start time.
Each lesson is 70 minutes in length.
Select a time slot that would work best keeping in mind travel time, busing schedules, etc.
Minimum number for each session is 15 students.
Maximum number for each session is 30 students.
Only Grade 5 classes have the option of having Police and Fire lessons during the same visits.
All requests must be made in writing by either E-mail to csv@yrp.ca or Fax to 905-927-1215.
You will receive a FAX confirmation from the Safety Village Administrative Assistant to be signed and
returned in order to confirm your visit.
Please have teachers share any special needs, behavioral concerns with Police or Fire Educator before the
start of each session.
Students attending Police sessions will go outside in the Village so students must have appropriate outdoor
clothing.
Students attending Grade 3 Bicycle and Bicycle Helmet Safety program must bring their helmet. The CSV
does have a limited supply of helmets on site, as well as some bicycles with training wheels.
Students attending Fire sessions will be inside for 70 minutes.
There are areas suitable for lunch (inside during bad weather, outside picnic pavilion in nice weather) which, if
they are to be used by your Grades 1, 2, 3, and 4 classes, must be included in your registration request.
Kindergarten and Grade 5 classes will eat indoors due to seasonal weather.
Please do not have younger siblings attend as this is an educational experience.
The programs at the Safety Village are now offered at no cost.
