To look and be our very best, we would do
well to avoid emotional, as well as
environmental stress.
We also need to reduce our toxic intake, and
choose wisely when it comes to what we eat
and what we “feed” our skin.
Ideally, the products you use on your clients are
organic and plant-based.
Why organic?
You want the ingredients to be free of toxic
fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides and to come
from environmentally clean areas.
They should also be free of trans-fats, toxins, and
chemical solvents

nutrients in them are more likely to work in
harmony with our skin.
Vitamins are made up of several different

foods come with all of their necessary

Our systems are not designed to take advantage of
one nutrient alone.
Synthetics aren’t something the body recognizes

In Japan, burdock root is called gobo and is

fiber, potassium, calcium, and amino acids.

for premature skin aging and
discolorations.

Every day our skin encounters free radicals in
many different forms; environmental
pollutants, ultraviolet rays, poor diet, emotional
stress.
We need antioxidants to protect our cells from
the damaging effects of oxidation.
Antioxidant rich foods that help
restore the skin

Red and black currants, raspberries,
blueberries, pomegranate and sesame seeds.
Grapes and red wine contain resveratrol, a
“super antioxidant” with strong anti-aging
properties.

Vegetables like spinach and kale, which
contain lutein, an antioxidant that helps
hydrate the skin.

Yellow and orange root vegetables, including
carrots, sweet potatoes, pumpkins and
squash. They are great sources of beta-
carotene.

Broccoli, cranberries and apples contain
quercetin, an other powerful antioxidant

pumpkin, and tomatoes.

Polyphenols
According to an article in the American
Journal of Clinical Nutrition (Vol. 81, No. 1,
215S-217S, January 2005) more evidence
shows that these compounds can help prevent
the spread of a number of degenerative
conditions.
Most of fruits and vegetables contain some
polyphenols, including green and black tea,
red wine, onions, broccoli, greens, apples and
blueberries.
Glutathione (GSH) - has been called
the master antioxidant.
