A telecoil can make a dramatic difference in your ability to hear clearly and understand dialogue. b TELECOILS… Why are manual telecoils so important? • Allows accessibility to work phones, FM/loop systems (for work- meetings, teachers with hearing loss and many other settings). • Without manual tcoils, aids are limited to only the current programs on the hearing aids (limiting use of other assistive technology later on) FM Systems • Dual microphone • More control of feature selections • Omni and directional microphones Photo courtesy of BeyondHearingAids.com Office Phones …New Ideas! Users of DAI cords and silhouettes should work closely with an audiologist, as the quality of the sound output from the hearing aid may be inadequate to properly diagnose heart/lung sounds. Headphones can also be placed over BTE hearing aids.
