Remember a noun is a word that
names a person, place, animal,
or thing.

There are special nouns called
Proper Nouns. They name special
people, pets, and places.
Katie is my friend.
I have a pet dog named Spot.
I live in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
A proper noun is special because it
begins with a capital letter.
Mrs. White is my teacher.
Mrs. White
Proper Nouns name a person, pet,
or place.
My aunt took me shopping.
My Aunt Betty took me shopping.
Notice that aunt is not a proper noun,
just a noun. But when it names
someone, it is a proper noun.
Here are some other examples of

My cat chased a mouse.
