COLLECT
• Almighty God, whose Son was revealed in majesty
before he suffered death upon the cross, give us
faith to perceive his glory, that being strengthened
by his grace we may be changed into his likeness,
from glory to glory; who lives and reigns with you
and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.
WORD OF GOD
Let us now turn our hearts and minds to the
Word of God.
GENESIS 17:1-7, 15-16
When Abram was ninety-nine years old,
the LORD appeared to Abram, and said to him, “I
am God Almighty; walk before me, and be
blameless. 2And I will make my covenant
between me and you, and will make you
exceedingly numerous.” 3Then Abram fell on his
face; and God said to him,
GENESIS 17:1-7, 15-16
4“As
for me, this is my covenant with you: You
shall be the ancestor of a multitude of nations. 5No
longer shall your name be Abram, but your name
shall be Abraham; for I have made you the
ancestor of a multitude of nations. 6I will make you
exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of
you, and kings shall come from you.
GENESIS 17:1-7, 15-16
7I
will establish my covenant between me and you, and
your offspring after you throughout their generations,
for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to
your offspring after you. 15God said to Abraham, “As for
Sarai your wife, you shall not call her Sarai, but Sarah
shall be her name. 16I will bless her, and moreover I will
give you a son by her. I will bless her, and she shall give
rise to nations; kings of peoples shall come from her.”
PSALM 22:23-30
REFRAIN: ALL THE ENDS OF THE
EARTH SHALL TURN TO THE LORD
ROMANS 4:13-25
13For
the promise that he would inherit the world
did not come to Abraham or to his descendants
through the law but through the righteousness of
faith. 14If it is the adherents of the law who are to
be the heirs, faith is null and the promise is
void. 15For the law brings wrath; but where there
is no law, neither is there violation.
ROMANS 4:13-25
• 16For this reason it depends on faith, in order
that the promise may rest on grace and be
guaranteed to all his descendants, not only to
the adherents of the law but also to those who
share the faith of Abraham (for he is the father
of all of to the dead and calls into existence the
things that do not exist.
ROMANS 4:13-25
18Hoping
against hope, he believed that he would
become “the father of many nations,” according
to what was said, “So numerous shall your
descendants be.”19He did not weaken in faith
when he considered his own body, which was
already as good as dead
ROMANS 4:13-25
• (for he was about a hundred years old), or when
he considered the barrenness of Sarah’s
womb. 20No distrust made him waver concerning
the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith
as he gave glory to God, 21being fully convinced
that God was able to do what he had
promised. 22Therefore his faith “was reckoned to
him as righteousness.”
ROMANS 4:13-25
• 23Now the words, “it was reckoned to him,” were
written not for his sake alone, 24but for ours also. It
will be reckoned to us who believe in him who
raised Jesus our Lord from the dead, 25who was
handed over to death for our trespasses and was
raised for our justification.

INTRODUCTION TO THE GOSPEL
• PRIEST: THE LORD BE WITH YOU
• PEOPLE: AND ALSO WITH YOU
• PRIEST: THE HOLY GOSPEL OF OUR LORD JESUS
CHRIST ACCORDING TO…
• PEOPLE: GLORY TO YOU, LORD JESUS CHRIST
GOSPEL: MARK 9:2-9
2Six
days later, Jesus took with him Peter and James and
John, and led them up a high mountain apart, by
themselves. And he was transfigured before them, 3and
his clothes became dazzling white, such as no one on
earth could bleach them. 4And there appeared to them
Elijah with Moses, who were talking with Jesus. 5Then
Peter said to Jesus,
GOSPEL: MARK 9:2-9
“Rabbi, it is good for us to be here; let us make
three dwellings, one for you, one for Moses, and
one for Elijah.” 6He did not know what to say, for
they were terrified. 7Then a cloud overshadowed
them, and from the cloud there came a voice,
“This is my Son, the Beloved; listen to him!”
GOSPEL: MARK 9:2-9
• 8Suddenly when they looked around, they saw
no one with them any more, but only Jesus.9As
they were coming down the mountain, he
ordered them to tell no one about what they had
seen, until after the Son of Man had risen from
the dead.
CONCLUSION TO THE GOSPEL
• PRIEST: THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST
• PEOPLE: PRAISE TO YOU, LORD JESUS CHRIST
SERMON
Opening Prayer: Lord, open my heart that I may
speak your truth. Open our ears so that we hear
your truth. And guide our spirits so that we can
take that truth to the world. By your power, and
through your grace, Amen
CARDINAL VIRTUES: WISE JUDGEMENT
APOSTLES’ CREED
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ , his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived
by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary . He
suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He
ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the
Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I
believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the
communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of
the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
THE PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
• LITANY # 14 (page 121 of the BAS)

forever. Amen
INVITATION TO CONFESSION
Priest: Dear friends in Christ, God is
steadfast in Love and infinite in mercy,
he welcomes sinners and invites them
to his table. Let us confess our sins,
confident in God’s forgiveness.
CONFESSION
ALL: We confess that we have sinned against you in
thought, word and deed, by what we have done and by
what we have left undone. We have not loved you with
our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbor as
ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.
For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us
and forgive us, that we may delight in your will and walk
in your ways, to the glory of your name. AMEN
ABSOLUTION
• Priest: Almighty God have mercy upon
you, pardon and deliver you from all your
sins, confirm and strengthen you in all

PROPER PREFACES
Celebrant: Blessed are you, gracious God, creator of
heaven and earth, because you bid your faithful
people to cleanse their hearts and to prepare with joy
for the paschal feast; that reborn through the waters of
baptism and renewed in the Eucharistic mystery, we
may be more fervent in prayer and more generous in
the works of love. Therefore we raise our voices to you
in praise to proclaim the glory of your name.

(REPEAT)
• Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in
the highest.
• Hosanna in the highest
• Blessed (CORSS) is he who comes in the name of
the Lord. Hosanna in the highest .
• Hosanna in the highest
EUCHARISTIC PRAYER #3
Celebrant We give thanks to you, Lord our God, for the
goodness and love you have made known to us in
creation; in calling Israel to be your people; in your Word
spoken through the prophets; and above all in the Word
made flesh, Jesus your Son. For in these last days you sent
him to be incarnate from the Virgin Mary, to be the
Saviour and Redeemer of the world. In him, you have
delivered us from evil, and made us worthy to stand
before you. In him, you have brought us out of error into
truth, out of sin into righteousness, out of death into life.
EUCHARISTIC PRAYER #3
• Celebrant: On the night he was handed over to suffering and death, a death
he freely accepted, our Lord Jesus Christ took bread; and when he had given
thanks to you, he broke it, and gave it to his disciples, and said, “ Take, eat:
this is my body which is given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me.”
After supper he took the cup of wine; and when he had given thanks, he gave
it to them, and said, “Drink this, all of you: this is my blood of the new
covenant, which is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins.
Whenever you drink it, do this for the remembrance of me.” Therefore, Father,
according to his command…
• ALL: we remember his death, we proclaim his
resurrection, we await his coming in glory
EUCHARISTIC PRAYER #3
• Celebrant: and we offer our sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving to
you, Lord of all; presenting to you, from your creation, this bread and
this wine. We pray you, gracious God, to send your Holy Spirit upon
these gifts, that they may be the sacrament of the body of Christ and
his blood of the new covenant. Unite us to your Son in his sacrifice, that
we, made acceptable in him, may be sanctified by the Holy Spirit. In
the fullness of time, reconcile all things in Christ, and make them new,
and bring us to that city of light where you dwell with all your sons and
daughters; through Jesus Christ our Lord, the firstborn of all creation,
the head of the Church, and the author of our salvation; by whom, and
with whom, and in whom, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all honour and
glory are yours, almighty Father, now and for ever.
• People: Amen
THE LORD’S PRAYER
Celebrant: And now, as our Saviour Christ has taught us, we are
bold to say,
All: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy
kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom,
the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen
