The aim of specialist treatment interventions are: • to deliver substance specific information • to deliver harm reduction strategies • needle and syringe support and safer injecting advice • advice & support regarding poly-drug use and risk of overdose • psychosocial interventions, i.e. “talking therapies” • access to medical and mental health services Treatment Treatment involves: “… a comprehensive assessment of needs followed by a structured, care planned, multi-agency working approach…” “…a range of interventions designed to identify and treat drug-related problems or conditions relating to a person’s physical, psychological or social well-being “…goal orientated approaches which are regularly reviewed with the client and comprises a number of concurrent or sequential treatment interventions…” S.C.O.D.A.
