BRUNNBY CHURCH
The church was built in the 1100s in the Romanesque
style, with nave and the chancel. Brunnby takes its name
from the source, located about 200 meters south of the
church which in the Middle Ages sprang up and formed a
broad stream of running water all year round. During the
1400’s the tower, the south porch and the north transept
was built. Vault was opened, and in these were murals.
Severals of those are still well preserved.

S:T PETRI KYRKA
A few lines from Bishop Lindström’s inaugural speech:
“This church makes no attempt to resemble churches of
the past. It is something completely new”. The ceiling is
arched in a series of waves, symbolizing man’s spiritual life
as a rolling motion. Lighting and lighting in the church is
sparse. Too much natural light destroys the mood of the
church according to the architect. Therefore, the lights
are constantly lit when service is in progress. Architect
Lewerentz wanted to create a soft and warm environment
with serenity and devotion.
