WAY FORWARD • The Commission is eliminating the use of Addendum Registers; • CVR is proposed to handle cases of missing names, especially in places with zero voters; • Need to enlighten the people to come out and verify the status of their registration, before the CVR commences; three days to CVR; • People without their names in the register should come for recapture during the CVR exercise; • Transfer cases should follow the legal provisions – apply to the REC through the EO of the new LGA. CONCLUSION • No doubt, a credible register is the bedrock for the conduct of a successful election; • As usual, the Commission is willing and ready to conduct a free, fair and credible Governorship Election in Anambra State; • It needs the cooperation of Stakeholders to work with the people at the grassroots in ensuring that all activities lined up for the optimization of the register of voters in the State are given the necessary attention.
