working tugboat in North America

Objectives:
To properly repair/refit the Master in order to
celebrate her Centennial in 2022
 To ensure that the Master will endure for another
generation at least

Status of Master:
◦ A 90 year old wooden tug
◦ Needs some serious TLC!!
◦ Some extensive hull and machinery repairs required:









Rim timber
Deck beams
Horn Timber
Upper Deck replacement
Wheelhouse Roof replacement
Shaft Bearings
Rudder Bearings
◦ On-going Machinery and Boiler maintenance


the BC economy

public support, we need to demonstrate strong and

The 5 Year Plan: 2013-2018
◦ Raise $500,000 to deal with major repairs
◦ Raise app. $80-90,000 per year for minor repairs and
operating expenses
◦ Build Public and Government awareness of the
importance of this vessel to BC and Canadian history

The 10 Year Plan: 2018-2022
Raise $100,000-$125,000 per year for ongoing repairs
and refits to ensure completeness of work
Participate in as many events as possible to raise
Centennial awareness
Have a huge Centenary Celebration in 2022
