Fix #2 Add a comma and a coordinating conjunction (FANBOYS) to make a compound sentence. Run-on: My friend was a great musician he could play the drums well. Fix #2: My friend was a great musician, and he could play the drums well! Fix #3 Place a semicolon between the two independent clauses. Run-on: The drummer played the music it was amazing to hear. Fix #3: The drummer played the music; it was amazing to hear. Fix #4 Add a subordinating conjunction to make one dependent clause and one independent clause. Run-on: The music was great he had spent hours practicing. Fix #4: The music was great because he had spent hours practicing. What is the fix? 1. My friend danced to the music she was a great dancer! 2. My friend was a great musician he could play the drums well. 3. The drummer played the music it was amazing to hear. 4. The music was great he had spent hours practicing. FIXES! 1. My friend danced to the music. She was a great dancer! 2. My friend was a great musician, and he played the drums well. 3.
