IBM Systems & Technology Group IBM Flex System介紹 Alan Lin I/T Specialist System x, Systems and Technology Group IBM Corporation © 2012 IBM Corporation We started with a clean sheet of paper… 1. Hardware management “built-in” – nothing to install 2. Make advanced virtualization more consumable (lower the skills required to operate a highly virtualized system) 3. Deliver platform pre-configured and optimized for virtualization (storage virtualization and network virtualization built-in) 4. New, dramatically simpler application deployment models 5. But yet, maintain full compatibility with current workloads Expert integrated systems 2 Built-in Expertise Capture and automate what experts do – from infrastructure patterns to application patterns Integration by Design Deeply integrate and tune hardware and software – in a secure, built for cloud, readyto-go, workload optimized system Simplified Experience Make every part of the IT lifecycle easier - with integrated management and a broad open ecosystem of optimized solutions © 2012 IBM Corporation We took a different approach… New class of Integrated System: • No-compromise hardware, with latest Power, x86, advanced storage and networking and choice of I/O. • Full-function management node, which integrates IBM management technology for servers, storage, network and virtualization management • Factory installed, fully packaged solutions drive simple setup (pull it out of the box, plug it in and boot it up) • Single product streamlines ordering, tracking, receiving, installing and running To create an integrated system, we discovered that we first had to better integrate ourselves… 3 © 2012 IBM Corporation IBM Flex System 組合內容 為實現虛擬化整合毫不妥協、可擴充大容量記憶體與NAND Flash並提供高速I/O安裝選擇 支持高速網路如10Gb/40Gb以太網路,16Gb的光纖通道 使用Flex System Manager 對多個機箱的硬體做集中管理 具備80Plus Platinum高白金效率能源電源供應器和卓越的的氣流冷卻設計 Storage Node Compute Node &Options PCIe 擴充單元 SSD Expansion Kit 內裝型V7000 IBM Flex System x240 IBM Flex System x220 Xeon E5-2600 ×2 MAX Mem: 768GB Switch module Options Flex System 企業級機箱 Ethernet 交換模組 Flex System EN4091 Xeon E5-2400 ×2 MAX Mem: 192GB IBM Flex System x440 Xeon E5-4600 ×4 MAX Mem: 1.5TB 4 Management Node 統合管理一體機 IBM Flex System Manager FlbreChannel交換模組 Flex System FC3171 8Gb Flex System FC5022 16Gb © 2012 IBM Corporation Chassis Midplane Front Management Connectors Passive Midplane – No Active Components Single Power Plane – Supports N+N and N+1 Power Mezzanine Cards Connectors Compute Node Power Connectors 5 © 2012 IBM Corporation Chassis Rear Midplane Switch Connectors Power Supply Connectors CMM Connectors Switch Power Connector Personality Card Connector Fan Power and Signal 6 © 2012 IBM Corporation Chassis Cooling Fan & Power Supply population order 3 4 1 2 Front Rear Power Supplies: N+N Redundant 7 © 2012 IBM Corporation Chassis Cooling Fan & Power Supply population order 7 8 5 6 3 4 1 2 Front Rear Power Supplies: N+N Redundant 8 © 2012 IBM Corporation Chassis Cooling Fan & Power Supply population order 13 14 11 12 9 10 7 8 5 6 3 4 1 2 Front Rear Power Supplies: N+N Redundant 9 © 2012 IBM Corporation Flex System x220/x240/x440 規格比較 x220 實體尺寸 x240 半寬 x440 全寬 處理器 Intel Pentium 1403 2C 2.6GHz, 80W Intel Xeon E5-2400 4C/6C/8C 1.8 - 2.4GHz, 50 - 95W Intel Xeon E5-2600 4C/6C/8C 1.8G – 3.3GHz, 60 - 135W Intel Xeon E5-4600 4C/6C/8C 2.0 – 2.7GHz, 95 - 130W CPU數 (標準/最大) 1/1 1/2 1/2 1/4 DIMM數 12 DIMM (6 DIMM/CPU) 24 DIMM (12 DIMM/CPU) 48 DIMM (12 DIMM/CPU) 標配記憶體 2GB (1 x 2GB) 4GB (1 x 4GB) 8GB (1 x 8GB) 8GB (1 x 8GB) 最大記憶體 96GB (6 x 16GB) 192GB (12x16GB) 768GB (24 x 32GB) 1,536GB (48 x 32GB) LOM Broadcom BCM5718 2端口、1Gb (有些機型沒有配搭) Emulex BE3 2端口、10Gb (有些機型沒有配搭) Emulex BE3 4端口、10Gb (有些機型沒有配搭) 2x 2.5” Hot swap Drive SAS/SATA/SSD Optional:eXFlash (8x SSDs) HDD Mezzanine Storage, Ethernet, FC and IB Reduced Bandwidth (x8+x4) Storage, Ethernet, FC and IB Full Bandwidth (x16) USB Flash Drive 2x Internal USB key Located on base planar 2x Internal USB key Located on top of Air Baffle Storage, Ethernet, FC and IB Full Bandwidth (x16) © 2012 IBM Corporation 存儲節點:直連or共用 為混合負載提供高性價比方案 節點內置硬碟(2個) Storage or SSD盤(4個) 高IOPS存儲節點:eX flash 大容量擴展節點:存儲擴展節點 SAS夾層卡 完善的資料保護方式,降低宕機時間 2 SSDs RAID0,1,10,5,6 快照、鏡像、遠程複製等 存儲虛擬化帶來更高的存儲利用率 直 連 存 儲 2 SSDs eX Flash 存 4 SSDs 儲節點 存儲擴展 節點 機箱管理/ 供電介面 12 x 2.5”熱插拔 硬碟or SSD RAID控 SAS 制器 擴展器 內置or外置 V7000 11 共 用 存 儲 © 2012 IBM Corporation 可以實現在每個計算節點上的高IOPS存儲 標準: 主板內建RAID + 2.5 HDD or SSD ×2 (Hotswap) 擴充2: ServeRAID M5115 + Enablement Kit + 2.5 HDD or SSD ×2 (Hotswap) 擴充3: ServeRAID M5115 + eXFlash Kit + 1.8 SSD ×4 (Hotswap) 擴充4: ServeRAID M5115 + eXFlash kit +SSD Expansion + 1.8 SSD ×8 (Hotswap × 4 + Non hotswap ×4) 1.8 SSD 背板 擴充1: 內建RAID + 2.5 HDD or SSD ×2 (Hotswap) + PCI Expansion + HighIOPS PCI-e 擴充卡 (Fusion-io ioDrive磁碟) 推薦使用: 透過具備低延遲與高容量特 性的HighIOPS PCI-Express 擴 充卡作為本機磁碟 用途:DB等 12 推薦使用: OS 開機用HDD 用途: OS開機、小規模 例如檔案伺服器 推薦使用: 客戶需要利用熱抽拔SSD 做成RAID5利用。 用途: Active Directory 、 Web伺服器、桌面雲 推薦使用: 需要內置大容量的SSD存儲 開機環境。 應用範圍:一體機,NAS 桌面雲,DB等 © 2012 IBM Corporation IBM Flex System Storage Expansion Node (SEN) detail ETE Bridge PCIe from x86 Compute Node Chassis Management / Power Interface Mechanical Slide 12 – 2.5” Drive Bays Cache option LSI SAS Controller (512mb or 1GB) Cable Arm Assembly Cable Arm Assembly Drive Tray SEN Facia Compute Node w/ SEN 13 IBM Confidential © 2012 IBM Corporation Let us explain importance of I/O Adapter types & Switch FoD...
