Summary and Conclusions
• ASDI is designed for measuring progress made by
African countries in terms of statistical development
and for comparisons in this regard.
• Variables and components of the ASDI were selected by
taking into account the conceptual framework,
statistical tools and methodologies, and data
availability.
• ASDI covers well the components of PARIS21 SCBI with
given dataset and is correlated to the SCI developed by
the World Bank.
