NetAcumen ActiveX Download Instructions Requirements: Administrator: User must be logged in as Administrator of the machine. If you are not the administrator, you will need to contact your helpdesk. You may encounter an error if you are not the administrator – see pg 26 for further details on how to determine if you are the Administrator. Internet Browser: Netacumen is ONLY compatible with Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0 or lower (32-bit only) and Netscape. It will not work with Safari, Mozilla Firefox, etc. Windows OS: Netacumen is Windows based and compatible with Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows Vista and Windows 7. Requirements: NetAcumen System Access Set-up Requirements Recommended Client System Requirements: Windows Vista or Windows 7 Operating System Intel Core i3(or higher) processor 2 GB RAM 4 GB of available disk space Internet Connectivity via TCP/IP to connect to the NetAcumen server(s) Microsoft Office 2007 recommended. However we do support Microsoft Office 2010 as well. Microsoft Internet Explorer 9.0 or lower (32-bit only) for Windows to display ActiveX objects, such as the Grid, Crosstab, and Reports. Please note that the 64-bot version of IE is not supported. MSIE requires Active X downloads for first time users, as well as periodically due to maintenance efforts. Downloading and installing Active X controls require administrative privileges on the client work station Windows English Language Locale Service Pack must be installed for viewing NetAcumen display Please note that NetAcumen is not supported on the 64-bit version of the Internet Explorer. This is commonly available on 64 bit version of the Windows Operating System. (see additional details in troubleshooting section of this guide) Firewall Specification Requirement – Maintain persistent session for 60 minutes. Please note that this process requires a reboot. Each step listed below is detailed in the pages that follow. If so, please click ‘Show the contents of this folder’. Once you have clicked this (or if you did not see this screen), please go on to the step in the next slide. GSI 8.2009 - NetAcumen Active X Download 13 Download of OLAP Cube Display • • • • Open a new Internet Explorer Session to external NetAcumen portal www.gsipartners.com/portal Open Sales-Order Analysis-Order Analysis report To Execute the report hit the OLAP button (first choice display) GSI 8.2009 - NetAcumen Active X Download 14 Download of OLAP Cube Display Left click on “Click here to install…” GSI 8.2009 - NetAcumen Active X Download Click “Install ActiveX Control” 15 Download of OLAP Cube Display •This will bring you back to the main Sales navigation screen •Select Order Analysis-Order Analysis report again •Use same prompts again •Select OLAP Cube GSI 8.2009 - NetAcumen Active X Download 16 Download of OLAP Cube Display •Once you select OLAP Cube, you will receive the pop up Security Warning below •Select Install GSI 8.2009 - NetAcumen Active X Download 17 Download of OLAP Cube Display •You should see the ‘balls’ running across the screen showing that the report is running •Then, you will receive another popup for Sink Installation. •Click Ok (or hit Enter) to confirm. You will now need to download the other 3 sinks for the Excel, Grid and Columnar Display types. How do I know it installed properly? If you can now return results for the report using the OLAP cube, the download was successful. What if my report still does not return results? If you do not see results for OLAP cube display, please go to page 25 of this instruction guide for Troubleshooting Tips. If that is the case, when you attempt to run a report, you will see something similar to below – a red X. Please see instructions on the next page (26) to determine if you are the Administrator. If you encounter this red X, please first verify that you are using 32-bit Internet Explorer (see page 27). If you are on 32-bit and receive this red x, please contact your machine administrator (most likely your HelpDesk) and ask them to follow the instructions for download. GSI 8.2009 - NetAcumen Active X Download 25 Troubleshooting Tips To determine if you are the Administrator of your machine, Right click on My Computer (on your desktop) and select Manage •Select Local Users and Groups •Then select Groups •Double click on Administrators •If your user id is not listed here, you are not the Administrator of the machine GSI 8.2009 - NetAcumen Active X Download 26 Troubleshooting Tips Please note that NetAcumen is not supported on the 64-bit version of the Internet Explorer. This is commonly available on 64 bit version of the Windows Operating System. To determine your operating system, please go to Help/About Us in Internet Explorer. Under Version, you will see a suffix for the 64-bit Edition. If there is no suffix, it is 32-bit. If you are on 64-bit, please install 32-bit Internet Explorer via the link below: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/ie7/ GSI 8.2009 - NetAcumen Active X Download 27 Troubleshooting Tips The following error messages are indicative of either a failed download of ActiveX or corruption of the file you downloaded. In such instances, recovery requires reinstallation. Begin by removing the ActiveX controls again, reboot and reinstall. GSI 8.2009 - NetAcumen Active X Download 28 Troubleshooting Tips Depending on your security setting on your browser, you may receive the “Install” pop-up repeatedly for each display (remember, you should receive it once for the first time you use each of the four display sinks. If you are receiving the pop-up repeatedly, click ‘select more options’ (see below). 1. First, Select More Options GSI 8.2009 - NetAcumen Active X Download 2. Then, select ‘Always install software from “Group 1 Software” (shown above) 3. Click Install – this should be the last time you have to install it for that specific sink (remember each sink requires one download) 29 IE 8 Workaround Sometimes on Internet Explorer 8, security settings for most of the components are disabled. Due to this WebLink would not download ActiveX controls and fails to load. Workaround: Open Internet Explorer 8. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options, and then click the Security tab. Select Internet zone out of the 4 zones in Security tab, and then click Custom level.... The Security Settings - Internet Zone dialog box appears.
