Dear Colleagues and Friends,
We are delighted to invite you to participate in the 1st Meeting of ITRUST
(International Translational Research in Uro-Sciences Team), to be held in Rome, Italy, September 11-13, 2014.
ITRUST is an international group of “young” academic urologists interested in translational and clinical research
in all fields of urology.
The meeting is co-organized by the young urologists of the Departments of Urology of both the public universities
in Rome, the University of Tor Vergata and La Sapienza.
It would be a highly educational meeting, mainly directed to the young urologists, offering a wide scientific programme on the new
horizons in the treatments of prostate cancer and BPH.
All the young associations of urologists (EAU-Young Urologist Office; International Young Urological Association and the European Society
of Resident in Urology) have given us their active support. A very valuable international faculty will contribute to make the sessions highly
interesting and interactive.
The sessions will cover all the already established and the new medical and surgical treatments of prostate cancer and BPH, among which
the live surgery session will be extremely educational.
The ITRUST Award Session will give the young researchers the opportunity to present and discuss their last works and to win a very
special prize.
Knowledge exchange and networking between young urologists are the main objectives of the meeting.
We encourage you to join the meeting and, last but not least, visit Rome in an amazing season!
We look forward to seeing you the next September,

MEETING OBJECTIVES
ITRUST (International Translational Research in Uro-Sciences Team) is a small group of young urologists interested
in translational and clinical research in different field of urology.
The purpose of this first meeting is to provide delegates with informations on the last clinical, pharmacological and surgical
treatment for prostate cancer and BPO due to BPH. Many questions remain still unanswered:
1) The traditional approach to localized prostate cancer with surgery or radiotherapy is now being in discussion due to the
significant complication rate. Emerging surgical techniques are now under clinical evaluation: focal therapy is a fact or fiction?
2) New drugs are now available for CRPC and metastatic prostate cancer: a multidisciplinary approach is advisable.
What the urologists need to learn from the oncologists?
3) Laser technology have gained great interest for BPO treatment
in the last years: is the TURP era really ended?
4) LUTS, inflammation, BPH, BPO, overactive bladder: what we
know and what we still need to know of this complex interaction?
THE LIVE-SURGERY SESSION WILL SHOW DELEGATES THE LAST TECHNOLOGIES FOR THE SURGICAL TREATMENT OF PROSTATE
CANCER AND BPH.
A SPECIAL ITRUST AWARDS POSTER SESSION WILL REFER THE VERY LAST CLINICAL AND TRANSLATIONAL RESEARCH OF
YOUNG UROLOGISTS IN THIS FIELD.
