• Jesus multiplied the loaves and fishes for the
crowd on its shores
• Jesus did the Sermon on the Mount near the Sea of
Galilee (Mount of Beatitudes)
• Jesus calmed the storm that almost tipped over
Peter’s boat
• Jesus walked on the water of the Sea of Galilee
The calm lake can
quickly become a storm.

freshwater sources in Israel today
• More than 20 varieties of fish in
the lake
• The most famous fish is called St

elders, and found by his parents after 3 days
