rural out-reach program for over 30 years with the state of the art Sankara Eye
Hospitals
– Provides quality eye care to the poor with a group of facilities which are among
the best in the world.

SEF, run entirely by volunteers, raises funds in USA to help build Sankara Eye
Hospitals throughout India
– Instrumental in growing # of hospitals from 1 in ‘98 to 8 in ’08
– Help each hospital become self sufficient (80% free, 20% paying)
Goal: Provide one million free surgeries per year by year 2020
