Review by Aurecon, results confirmed suitability of proposal with laboratory testing undertaken to determine mix design. Safety of airport operations at all times critical. Stabilisation was suitable for night works when airside traffic is significantly reduced. Utilising existing materials reduced the number of cartage trucks entering airside. Environmental benefits including reduced cartage of raw materials to replace removed materials Reduction in project schedule. Stabilisation completed in 6 shifts. Alternative 15 shifts plus off-site treatment for unsuitable subgrade. Initial 4 week project delay overcome. Evidence of Success & Supporting Data Productivity – project duration reduced by 2 weeks Financial – eliminated need for 6% of the project value as a provisional item Environmental – reuse of potentially contaminated materials, reduction in raw material use, eliminated 250 truck movements Safety – minimized airplane interaction, and was completed at night.
