The following changes were made: • Targeted custom building offering for shell improvements and, • Added energy efficiency kits • EE Kits are new to OH/ been used extensively in PA programs • C&I Kits including CFLs and smart strips for small businesses Energy Efficient Buildings Program – (LARGE) a continuation and consolidation of the Technical Assessment Umbrella and C&I Equipment Program - Large. The measures included in this program are unchanged from the Existing Plans. Ohio Energy Efficiency and Peak Demand Reduction 2013-2015 7 Non-Residential Program Highlights (continued) EE Buildings Program / Audits: • C&I Audits (Small & Large): • Companies will increase the audit payment amount for small C&I customers from $4,000 to $5,000. • Allow customer to reduce the overall costs of the audit by installing recommended prescriptive measures that result from the audit. • Larger customers, pay 50% of the audit cost, and allow large customer to reduce 50% of the audit cost by installing recommended prescriptive measures. • Require customers that fail to install the recommended measures within 6 months of the audit to pay for the cost of the audit. Ohio Energy Efficiency and Peak Demand Reduction 2013-2015 8 Non-Residential Program Highlights (continued) EE Buildings Program / Retro-commissioning (RCx) (COMING) Retro-commissioning is the systematic process applied to existing buildings to ensure that their systems can be operated and maintained according to the owner’s needs. Looking for No-Cost or Low-Cost measures. RCx is normally done every 3 - 5 years to maintain top levels of building performance • Commercial Building RCx might include: • Adjustment of lighting and HVAC operating schedules • Adjustment of HVAC temperature set points • Redeployment of inoperable HVAC dampers and controls • Industrial Plant RCx might include: – Compressed Air Leak loss reduction – Compressed Air Adjustment of an existing flow controller or sequencer to match plant operations – Compressed Air Correction of inappropriate uses of compressed air such as open blowing Ohio Energy Efficiency and Peak Demand Reduction 2013-2015 9 Mercantile Customer Program Mercantile customers may qualify to avoid certain charges in the Demand Side Management and Energy Efficiency Rider (DSE2) or may choose a cash option Who is considered “mercantile”?
