Marie International Bridge (St. Mary’s River Bridge Corporation (SMRBC) Thousand Islands International Bridge The Seaway International Bridge THE SEAWAY INTERNATIONAL BRIDGE New North Channel Bridge (NCB) ($74.8M) The new bridge, its approaches and toll facilities were opened to traffic in January 2014. The contract for the demolition of the old high-level structure has been awarded, works were initiated in August 2014 with a completion timeline of 24 months. Improvements to the approaches and final alignment of roadways, completion planned for 2016-17. New NCB NCB Aerial view of deck removal of old THE SEAWAY INTERNATIONAL BRIDGE CBSA Facilities (Temporary buildings funded by CBSA) An Interim temporary CBSA building also opened with the new North Channel Bridge on January 24th, 2014. A second phase for the completion of a more permanent CBSA building was completed August 19, 2014. No final decision by Government on the location of permanent facilities. Aerial view of the more permanent interim CBSA facilities THOUSAND ISLANDS INTERNATIONAL BRIDGE Lansdowne Port Of Entry Rehabilitation of CBSA Facilities ($60M – 4 years) Identified as priority in Canada/US Border Action Plan, scope and funding approved by Treasury Board November 2013. New facility will house the CBSA Traffic/Commercial operations under one roof with nine primary travellers and four commercial PILS. Planning, site investigation and design component were initiated in 2014-15, project is planned for completion in 2017-18. Concept Plan for CBSA Plaza Present CBSA Plaza SAULT STE. MARIE INTERNATIONAL BRIDGE Repainting of the upper arch of the Canadian Bridge in 2018-19, deck overlay in 2020-21. US International Bridge Plaza Redevelopment - joint project SMRBC with US partner IBA aimed at improving traffic flow, safety and renewing infrastructure - $8.9 M . Completion October 2015. Replacement of the 52 year old toll plaza From 5 to 7 toll lanes with enhanced electronic tolling software (on-line accounts and credit card use) New 10 K square foot administration building Canadian Plaza Redevelopment Project for Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). ($51.6M) Gateways and Border Crossings Fund Contribution Agreement (SMRBC with Transport Canada) amended for additional funding and extended timeline to 2017-18. SAULT STE.
