There are adverbs of: • Manner • Frequency • Time • Degree Adverbs of manner – FORM: 1.-to make to make an adverb of manner we often add –ly to the adjective. Adjective adverb Quiet quietly 2.-some adverbs of manner are irregular. Adjective adverb. good well 3.-some adverbs of manner as the same as their adjectives. • Adverbs of manner describe how we do something. Adjective adverb. -Alex is a quiet worker -alex works quietly. Adverbs of time • Form Some adverbs of time are: -yesterday-this week - tomorrow -last week -next week -the other day -today -at the moment –tonight -late -early. USE • Adverbs of time tell us when something happened, happens or will happen. • Example: I will see you tomorrow Greg came last week ADVERBS OF FREQUENCY • Form 1.-Some single word adverbs or frequency are: -Always -often -sometimes -seldom -usually -never –regularly -rarely -frequently -ocasionally -generally • 2.-some adverbial phrases of frequency are: -every day -every week -every month -every morning.
