OBJECTIVES develop an awareness and tolerance of, and an appreciation for the culture of Spanish-speaking societies; OBJECTIVES develop an attitude to Spanish as a medium of communication in real-life situations; OBJECTIVES develop the disposition and confidence to use the language to communicate; OBJECTIVES improve speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills; OBJECTIVES master the Spanish grammar system in order to use the language to express personal meanings; OBJECTIVES to enjoy the experience of learning Spanish! FOCUS ON COMMUNICATION Questions will reflect a more holistic and communicative approach to the use of the language. FOCUS ON COMMUNICATION Questions will be set from a thematic perspective, thus reflecting students’ daily lives and interaction. FOCUS ON COMMUNICATION Grammar and vocabulary items are therefore not assessed in isolation and in non- meaningful contexts. Give your response. Submission of Questions Each school must submit 100 (50 pairs) matching questions for each category that they enter. Submission of Questions Questions should be submitted according to themes. Submission of Questions Questions should be submitted in the form of written matches- NOT RANDOMLY. AN ANSWER MUST BE PROVIDED. Vetting of Questions Questions submitted will be vetted by the Quiz Committee- an independent body of Spanish language specialists. Questions that are to be edited will be returned to the writers/ teachers so that they can be amended and re-sent. This has to be done to ensure the corresponding school’s participation in the competition. Questions and Comments
