The social role of the Museum
The Museum is a mediator bringing together the research community,
university, schools and the public undertaking an important role which is to:
• “translate” knowledge related to science and technology through the use of
a range of methods and interpretative means
• preserve the historical memory of the industrial evolution
• disseminate the scientific culture and knowledge as a tool for
understanding contemporary society and becoming an active part of it.

Why an exhibition on Space at the Museum?
The exploration of Space has always been
perceived as the maximum challenge for the
human capacity because it integrates
knowledge and technological evolution.
Research and industry in Italy play a
fundamental role in this field.

Why an exhibition on Space at the Museum?
The role of Italy in the history of this
sector is of great significance.
The realization of an exhibition
dedicated to this history contributes to
reinforce the consensus of the public
opinion regarding the activity of the
Italian Space Agency, the European
Space Agency, the private companies
and our scientists.
