Amongst others, our clients include government agencies such as Provincial Authorities, Local Authorities, the Department of Public Works & Water Management and the Water Authorities. Specialist construction and infrastructure contractors also use the services of Van Halteren Infra. engineering structures MIDDELBURG AQUEDUCT Van Halteren Infra BV was involved in the construction of the site excavation for the aqueduct under the canal through Walcheren in Middelburg. The construction of the aqueduct was an engineering structure that formed part of the reconstruction of the N57 national highway. Our work consisted of supplying and installing (temporary) sheet pile walls and a combination wall. In total, this project involved the processing of more than 6,000 tons of steel. water works MAJOR REPAIRS TO WATERWAYS Van Halteren Infra was contracted by the Department of Public Works & Water Management for Limburg-Maastricht to undertake the Major Repairs to Waterways (GOVa) project. Dozens of kilometres of riverbank protection in the South of the Netherlands was replaced by steel sheet pile. The sheet piles were installed using the vibratory technique and anchored in place using grout anchors and anchor purlins. In the centre of town the piles were installed using a non-vibratory technique. rail works UNRESTRICTED RAILWAY CROSSING IN AMERSFOORT The ‘unrestricted railway crossing’ project as a whole involved the creation of an underpass beneath a number of existing railway tracks close to Central Station in Amersfoort. A temporary sheet pile structure including stays had to be installed for the construction of both approach roads. At the location of the rail crossing permanent sheet pile walls were installed over a stretch of rail extending to more than 100 metres. This was undertaken during a temporary interruption to service. For this project Van Halteren Infra used two ABI cranes because it was necessary to work under the overhead lines. building excavations VICTORIA SQUARE BELFAST In the bustling centre of Belfast, where the famous House of Parliament at a time had to make way for new-build, Van Halteren Infra was commissioned to undertake the technical challenges involved in the creation of a building excavation. A complex system of stays and anchors were required in order to allow excavation to a depth of up to 11 metres below ground level. Various external factors made this project exceptionally complicated. The presence of the Courthouse just a stone’s throw away and the fact that one of Belfast’s main sewers was located parallel to the building excavation added to this complexity. Van Halteren Infra installed the entire sheet pile structure. inner-city works ANNE FRANK HOUSE - AMSTERDAM Installing sheet pile at vulnerable locations demands a great deal of expertise. Temporary and permanent sheet pile was installed in order to repair the quay wall at the location of the Anne Frank House on the Prinsengracht in Amsterdam. Van Halteren Infra, with its expert staff and equipment, has extensive experience in undertaking many projects in villages, towns and cities that required vibration-free and silenced operations.
