WELCOME TO
CREATING GROWTH FROM INNOVATION
15 & 16 OCTOBER
In the frame of the mKETs Pilot Lines
project, Acreo Swedish ICT organizes two
workshops. The aim of these workshops
is to show research, industry and
policy makers how the pilote line PEAManufacturing is organized and what it
has to offer, how collaborations between
stakeholders can be optimized and which
support mechanisms are required for a
pilot line.
The workshops will give insight into the
business model and the daily operations of
PEA-Manufacturing, Norrköping Sweden. A
guided tour at PEA-Manufacturing will show the
production processes for Printed Electronics and
examples of products based on KETs.
SME’s and large enterprises which cooperated
with Acreo in PEA-Manufacturing for their
development and innovation will share their
experiences on how to work in an open Pilote
line PEA-Manufacturing to enhance their
competiveness.
The workshops will create network opportunities
for SME’s, industry, research, policy makers and
other stakeholders. The mKETs Pilot Lines project
made a thorough analysis of the ecosystem and
best-practices of the selected pilot lines as well as
the hurdles they encounter(ed) and gathered this
information in a tutorial. The 5 major conclusions
resulting from this assessment will be challenged
and discussed during the workshop. The tutorial
will be a useful tool for innovative enterprises
and will foster a common understanding and
consensus for future actions in Europe focusing
on multi-KETs pilot lines.
In 2009, Europe defined six Key Enabling
Technologies or KETs: Industrial Biotechnology,
Nanotechnology, Nano and Microelectronics,
Photonics, Advanced Materials and Advanced
Manufacturing. Key Enabling Technologies are
considered to directly or indirectly stimulate
Europe’s competitiveness and generate jobs,
growth and wealth. Europe invests in these
technologies to enable the shift to a low carbon,
knowledge-based economy.
Europe selected four leading multi-KET pilot
facilities. Multi-KET Pilot Lines combine several
KETs under one roof. The Pilote Line PEAManufacturing is a European front runner in
terms of Printed Electronics and was selected as
Demonstrator Pilot Line for this KET. The project
will analyse the ecosystem and experiences of the
selected pilot lines and gather this information
in a tutorial useful for innovative enterprises and
policy makers.
This project aims at the preparation of a common
understanding of what these pilot lines are and
how they can be supported by the European
Commission.
(PARTIAL) REIMBURSEMENT OF TRAVEL
EXPENSES
To ensure the workshop is accessible for a
large and diverse international public, travel
expenses of the participants attending the
workshop can, under certain conditions, be
(partially) reimbursed. If you wish to apply
for reimbursement, please complete the
application form attached and send it to
anna.malmstrom@acreo.se. We will inform
you as soon as possible if you are eligible for
reimbursement and which amount we can
reimburse.
