• The Library Collection exceeds 3.5 lakh books and
65,000 back volumes of the journals.
• Internet and ICT facility to all teachers and research
scholars to access more than 6500 e.journals.
• The Library is provided with 4 servers and 88 P4
computers connected to 2mbps internet bandwidth
exclusively for Library.
• The annual budget of University Library exceeds one
crore rupees for purchase of Books and Journals.

• Online public access catalogue (OPAC).
• The Dynamic Library website links to most of the EResources on the web as well as avails the access to 6,500
E-Journals UGC-INFONET.
• The Library has developed MoU with Google and avails
the University Mail server hosted by Google with
University domain name.
• The Library brings out the Current Awareness Bulletin
consisting of the content pages of print journals received
every fortnight.
• The Library has developed a interactive database of Thesis
and Dissertations submitted to Bangalore University.

The Centre is Conducting Computer Practical classes for various PG departments in
the University (around 850 students every year).

Teaching Theory paper on Computer Applications for various PG departments.

The Centre is involved in conducting Computer Practical Examinations for various
PG depts.

Conducting Computer Awareness Training Programmes for the PG students,
Research Scholars and staff of the University.
•
Apart from its usual responsibilities and functions, the centre is also providing
computational and Internet facilities to the staff and students.

On hand In-house Crash Course to the students of Post Graduate Departments

On line internet facilities to the Affiliated Colleges – for downloading Information

The Centre also offers Guidance to Ph.D. students for doing statistical analysis of

Bio-park and NSS Activities

• NSS Bhavan
• Maintenance and up keep of bio-park with 5.00 lakhs plant sapplings from the
Western ghats, spread-over 500 acres Bio-park on the campus.
• Construction of Check-dams, to conserve rain water which in turn recharge
ground water and help maintenance of bio-park and attract several endangered
birds.
• Seven vanas and parks – Bonsai (Nurseries and mini forests) where the medicinal
plants are grown have been laid out.
• Organizations such as Rotary, Inner wheel clubs, NGO’s, the State are
collaborators in community oriented programmes.
• The University also has a tie-up with VANASAMVARDHANA programmes and
JALASAMVARDHANA organizations for aforestation and for Ground water recharging respectively on the Jnana Bharathi Campus.
• Landscaping programme at the entrance of the Jnana Bharathi Campus
