Welcome to Department
of
Electrical Engg.
About Electrical Engineering

Electrical engineering encompasses all devices and systems that
operate electrically. Electrical engineers are integrally involved
with the generation, distribution, of electrical power and
electromechanical conversion (Motor & transformer). They also
design and produce general electronic circuits and their solidstate components such as integrated circuits and computer chips.

Electrical engineering is the largest of all engineering disciplines.
This is divided into heavy current (electrical machinery;
generating stations and distribution systems) and light current
(telecommunications, radar, computers etc.) With the increasing
demand for electrical energy, the development in audio and video
communication systems, and the automation in industry,
electrical engineers have become indispensable to society today.

About EE Department


The Electrical Engineering Department offers courses
leading to a Bachelor of ENGINEERING in Electrical
Engineering.
The Department has qualified and
experienced faculty in all the related fields of Electrical
Engineering viz. Electrical Power System, Electrical
Machines, Control, Instrumentation, Microprocessors,
Power Electronics and Digital Signal Processing. The
theoretical knowledge is further supplemented by well
equipped laboratories. There is widespread interaction
between the Electrical Engineering Department and
various other departments like Electronics Engineering
and Computer Science and Engineering in the field of
teaching and research
The Department has well equipped laboratories and
operates its own library, offering facilities to work in all
areas of Electrical Engineering
To enhance student’s conceptual theoretical and practical
understanding the Electrical Department focuses on the
following objectives:





To provide the students with a flexible platform in the
laboratories that scales from software to hardware.
To provide students with a completely interactive
environment.
Guidance and counseling of the students right from the
beginning.
Offering soft skills training to the students with an aim to
improve their personality in all aspects:
Conducting regular Seminars, Works-shops and Lectures
by experts from various renowned institutes
HOD Message:IPS College of Engineering & management (IPS-CTM) was
started in the year 2007.During the last 3 years, IPS-CTM has
developed very well and has been recognized as one of the
good Engineering Colleges in Madhya Pradesh.
I welcome the fresher who have joined the department on
behalf of the department and also on my behalf. I will like to
advise all the students of the EE department to work hard to
be ahead of others in competition. There are plenty of jobs for
Technical Professionals but for those who deserve
Electrical is a Hybrid Deptt catering to the need of Power
Sector, Electrical utilities and Electronics instrumentation
and control. These days the Power Plants, Electrical
machines in Industry and other Electrical utilities have
modern Electronic Control. Keeping in mind the above
requirement, the scheme and syllabi have been designed to
prepare such Engineers in the department of Electrical .
Such Engineers will be competent to work successfully in
Electrical Industry as well as Electronics Industry
I am sure that our young and dynamic faculty will be more
committed towards the career building of our students. I
wish and am hopeful that our faculty will progress in their
career and our students will make a better career
