Various course in Tourism and Hospitality Industry 5 National Training Progams The Ministry of Manpower introduced the NTP programs in order to enhance or bridge the gap between the skills required by the employer and with those the job seekers have Training Tied with Employment; has been introduced many years ago and has proved to be successful. Employers selects candidates for job positions from the Workforce Register. If the workforce require training than the Ministry provide subsides for training. On the Job Training; provided by employers. During the OJT the Ministry contributes monthly RO150 to top up the trainee agreed salary where the other part of the salary the employer should pay. Duration of the OJT depends on the nature of the job and the candidate qualifications Training Abroad; A training scheme has been developed to allow employers to train job seekers abroad if there is a need for that 6 Procedures for applying for the subsidized National Training Programs: The employers selects candidates for the job from the Workforce Register Authority If job candidates lack specific skills, employer request the Ministry to up skill the candidates through the NTP Employer and the Ministry mutually agrees on the training program and the training provider A binding contract is signed by the Employer, Training Provider, Trainee, and the Ministry of the Manpower 7 Providers of Hospitality and Tourism programs • Sultan Qaboos University – College of Arts and Social Sciences • Oman Tourism College • National Hospitality Institute • Khimjis Institute of Administration 8 Courses • Hotel Management • Hospitality Courses – Front office and Housekeeping Courses – Service and Restaurant Management Courses – Language Courses – Customer Service Courses • Management Courses • Tourism – Tour guiding courses – Reservations and Ticketing – Travel agents • Culinary courses – Cooks, Chefs 9 Summary What could be offered to investors?
