• Ensure you are servicing your course; it’s not just about passing
subjects – you need to take the responsibility
• Know who to ask or what to do when things go wrong
• We create learning environments to engage; how are you
demonstrating your skills/attributes/capacity in the subject and
course objectives?
• Find the right balance – enjoy University - Study vs Work vs Life
• Cope with change, recovery strategy, dynamic, non-linear,
• Take opportunities that are available, exchange, scholarships,
awards, competitions, volunteer…

General advice on choosing subjects
> Postgraduate subjects (32nnn, 42nnn and 955nn) (Undergraduate

Postgraduate IT courses include some core subjects, plus many
electives.
Try and study core subjects earlier (provided you meet the
prerequisites).
Plan ahead for your electives and enrol in them as early as
possible – popular electives can become full.
Refer to the handbook and timetable, but if you are really stuck
with choosing subjects, speak with your course co-ordinator,
program director or academic advisor.
