Research Responsibility:
Converting RapidSmith Subsite Information to EDIF
RapidSmith is a software infrastructure for creating and modifying hardware designs targeting Xilinx
FPGAs. Currently, the FPGA building blocks, called Basic Elements of Logic (BELs), and their connectivity is
embedded as string attributes in a higher level of hierarchy called a site. This project will focus on interpreting
the string representations of the BELs and expressing them in EDIF.

Research Responsibility:
A GUI-based Sub-site Routing Extraction Tool for Vivado
B1-Vivado group is on the cutting edge of CAD tool creation for Xilinx FPGAs. This project will focus on extracting
vital device information from Xilinx's new design suite (Vivado), to create a framework for the creation of custom
CAD tools that target 7 Series FPGAs and beyond. Specifically, this project involves the creation of a GUI-based
tool in Java that will allow researchers to easily generate a site's physical routing information, which will then be
imported into BYU's exsiting RapidSmith CAD tool framework.

Automation of probe movements and design of new ionic conductivity experiments
1. Update control codes to perform ionic conductivity experiments.
2. Create interface to determine when measurement failures occur and provide
descriptors in output files so that MATLAB can automatically determine how to
deal with these failures.
Broader Impact Assignment:
1) Website - want to update with battery material research so that others know how
to prepare samples that they send to us for analysis.
