Currently, the FPGA building blocks, called Basic Elements of Logic (BELs), and their connectivity is embedded as string attributes in a higher level of hierarchy called a site. This project will focus on interpreting the string representations of the BELs and expressing them in EDIF. This project will focus on extracting vital device information from Xilinx's new design suite (Vivado), to create a framework for the creation of custom CAD tools that target 7 Series FPGAs and beyond. Specifically, this project involves the creation of a GUI-based tool in Java that will allow researchers to easily generate a site's physical routing information, which will then be imported into BYU's exsiting RapidSmith CAD tool framework.
