Mil Std 1388 2B Canadian D-01-100-214 Europe – Moving forward? • ASD has become the prime driver for Standards in Europe. • Started primarily through the Tech Docs with what is now known as S1000D – over 20 years of development – now at V4.1 • Closely followed by what is now known as S2000M – now at V4.0 • In recent years following the PLCS initiatives – we have a whole range of new and ‘in development’ ILS standards: S3000L S3000L: • development’ ILS standards: NATO plans to acquire an Alliance Ground Surveillance (AGS) system that will give commanders a comprehensive picture of the situation on the ground. NATO’s operation to protect civilians in Libya showed how important such a capability is. A group of Allies intends to acquire five unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and the associated command and control base stations. NATO will then operate and maintain them on behalf of all 28 Allies.
